How can I make ornate/vintage swirls using photoshop?

How can I use photoshop to make my own vintage/ornate swirls? If its possible please can you give a description of how i can do it or direct me to a web page with a step by step guide?

Ok I have only made swirls in Adobe Illustrator but you can use these same concepts using the vector pen tool in photoshop.
