What do Letraset Blender pens Do?

Hey. I recently paid about £2 for a letraset 'blender' marker. I thought that it would 'blend' colours together if i put them next to eachother. But it doesn't do anything. I got a sheet of stunning white paper, and drew a black and red line. I drew and scribbled the blender pen over the line where they crossed, and nothing blended.
As far as i'm concerned, it's just a pen that makes your page slightly more wet, it might as well be filled with water. :S
