Can anyone help me aso what females wore in the 70's?
I am going to a 70's party on the weekend, I have a dress to wear, but just wondering if they wore glasses back then like the coloured lense ones, what necklaces, ear rings etc, and how the hair was. I was born in 78, so i cant remember.
I am in Aus if that makes a difference to the fashion, I dont know.

The hippy stuff was mostly over by the seventies, hippy peace signs is more 60's than 70's. I was a teen in the seventies and we wore mostly jeans and t-shirts. The jeans were flared or boot cut, fashionista girls wore their jeans with big cuffs on the bottom. Short waist length bomber jackets were a big fad, red satin baseball bomber jackets were a huge fad in 1975. Everyone wore platform shoes and sandals. An odd teen fad was to wear bright striped socks with platform shoes and jeans rolled up to below the knee. Add a short bomber jacket and a rock band t shirt and you would be every girl in my grade 10 art class. Designer brand names weren't a big deal in the seventies; you could wear levis or Lees or even a big name like Jordache or sassoon and no one would care one way or the other, status symbols were more about what band shirt you wore...cool kids wore Ramones and New York Dolls and Queen while uncool kids wore BeeGees, Abba, anything disco. Disco was not a big look for teens, in fact teens hated disco, it was for 20 and 30 year olds. We liked what is now called "classic Rock" Denim Jackets were a staple, everyone had them. "That Seventies Show" gets all the clothes bang on, everything the characters wear on the show is stuff I remember wearing and stuff my brothers wore. Check out a couple episodes and you should be able to find something you have now that looks seventies-ish.
