Describe what the Birthing center or LDR room was like were you gave birth.?
I love every thing about the one i chose but i am wondering if they are all this nice or if i just got lucky?
Mine was huge
It had a queen sized hida bed and two single size pull out sleepers for family
a full size table and chairs that would seat 6
an in room hot tub
a huge bathroom
beautiful deco.
Big screen tv with cable and dvd player
Stereo
as many as 20 people allowed in the room at a time as long as they were not sick and have previously had chicken pox.
and full room service from the cafeteria
AND...all i had for insurance was Oregon Health Plan
Why on EARTH would anyone want 20 people in the room during delivery?
Honestly, I was in the LDR room for 6 hours, 4 of which I was in intense labour and wouldn't have noticed if it was gold plated, and 2 holding my baby and wouldn't have noticed if the hospital crumbled around me. Actually, I spent two hours of that 6 in the hot tub in a different room anyway, and didn't go back to my LDR room until it was time to push so I was in there minimally.
Our hospital is brand new and actuallyquite nice - it was finished one year before I had my second baby. I had a huge private room with one bed and a huge window with a nice view. I think there was a TV in there, but I don't really know as during labour I didn't really care and moved to a private hospital room right after delivery anyhow.
