Is wearing a diamond cross necklace a little blasphemous?

I guess this must sound like a silly question...is is blasphemous to wear a diamond cross necklace? Is it turning the atonement of Christ into a fashion statement rather than a symbol of faith? Or am I reading way too much into it?

The question is do you worship the necklace or Jesus? IF it is a reminder of Jesus then you are fine. If you worship the necklace and not Jesus there is a problem. For most of us a cross is a reminder of what Jesus has done for us. So when we see it we think of Jesus and how he gave his life for us so we can have eternal life by dying for our sins.
The cross is the cross unless it is seen and not Jesus' sacrifice in it.

Money is money unless I love it and worship it. Jesus is the reason for us living and receiving eternal life. Any thing that makes us lose focus on Jesus is not good.
In all this we are to focus on Jesus, that is what we are to learn from the scripture on this. Like the first commandment, God is to be first in our lives. Jewelry is jewelry unless we lose focus of God/Jesus.
So do you lose focus, or focus more seeing it? I focus more when I see the cross, it reminds me of what Jesus has done.
