Ladies, would this be suitable for an engagement ring?

Ladies, I want to know what you all think of this ring. Me and my boyfriend of 6 years want to get married. I am going to be graduating from college this spring, and he is in the army, so we are in the process of saving up money to buy a house and just get our lives started, together. Personally, I love this ring as an engagement ring. Its different, and sapphires have a wonderful meaning. But I'm not sure if my love for it has made me blind to the fact that it might look sort of like costume/fashion jewelry. What do you all think?

I think the engagement ring is going to overshadow the wedding ring, you won't be able to see much of the detail of the band with the sapphire covering it.

Have you thought about going with a solitaire with a sapphire instead of a diamond?
