How can I tell how old my cameo necklace is?

I have this cameo pendant necklace, and I have no idea how to tell how old it is or the value or anything. I've heard that it's not plastic if it's translucent in the light, so I think it's not plastic. There's also a marking on the metal that it's set in that I believe says 800. I've tried googling, but it hasn't been a massive help, so any information would be really appreciated.
