My fish tank has many fishes with broken and shredded fins and tails?
My fish tank has many fishes with broken and shredded fins and tails, i have red cap, gold fish, brass gold, shrumpin..all fishes fins and tails are shredded and brokens..I have changes water freqently, added salt..nothing worked....
I have some theories. First, your tank could be overstocked. You mentioned you have goldfish. A single goldfish needs at LEAST twenty gallons. How many gallons is your tank and how many fish do you have? I think your fish could be fighting due to territorial issues and due to the tank being overstocked. Have you observed them nipping at each other? My other theory is that they have fin/tail rot, which is a bacterial disease. If this is the case, the fish will need to be removed from the main tank and put into quarantine with an antibiotic.
